The children from the Art Workshop after-school group have been working hard making paper lanterns for the Rhiwbina Christmas Festival this Saturday, 29th November from 4.00pm. This event brings the local community together to celebrate Christmas. This year BBC’s presenter Sian Lloyd will be turning on the Christmas lights; Santa will make an early appearance in the New Roots Garden Centre; there are children’s rides, stalls and late night shopping; live music; singing carols around the Christmas Tree and my personal favourite will be sipping mulled wine and marking the official start of the festive season with my Village settlers.
The Lantern Parade is set to depart from the Art Workshop at 6.45pm. Together with these amazing designs, there is an opportunity for people to make their own smaller versions on the night. The procession then departs on a circuit through the thoroughfare, and trails around the historic Rhiwbina Garden Village.
The Art Workshop runs courses for adults and children in a variety of mediums. For more information check out their website.
